The Chairperson of the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC) has on Thursday held pre-plenary briefing with ambassadors from IGAD, the European Union (EU), Troika ((UK, US and Norway) and the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

 

H.E. Festus Mogae briefed the envoys about his latest engagements with regional leaders such as the Ethiopian PM H.E. Hailemariam Desalegn.

 

The chairperson also briefed the ambassadors of the ARCSS High-Level Revitalization Forum (HLRF) and the regional and international efforts to make it a success. 

 

He said much has been achieved towards the Forum and consultation report produced and submitted to the Chairperson of the GAD Council of Ministers.

 

He noted the JMEC HLRF Taskforce members are the “most critical component” of the IGAD Special Envoy’s team, supported IGAD Council of Ministers pre-forum consultation with all parties, groups and stakeholders.
