NCAC meets lobby groups, receives proposal on law amendments

As part of its continued wide consultations on South Sudan constitutional amendments, the National Constitutional Amendment Committee (NCAC) has on Friday met officials from the South Sudanese Network for Democracy and Elections (SSUNDE).

The network presented written amendment proposals to NCAC chairperson Mr. Gichira Kibara.

Mr. Kibara said the proposals, will be considered in the ongoing reviews on laws of the Republic of South Sudan.

He thanked the officials for the submissions, which he said will help the Committee in the amendments on laws and the constitution.

SSUNDE Chairperson, Mr. Rajab Mohandis, led the officials.

The network said it has a representative from “75 diverse and non-partisan civil society organizations and faith-based groups formed in 2009”.
