JMEC hosts its 6th Donor Conference
The Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC) has on Wednesday held its 6thDonor Conference in the South Sudan capital, Juba.
The one-day event was aimed at updating the donor community on the activities and prospects of the Commission, mandated to oversee the implementation of the Peace Agreement in the country.
The donors in attendance were from China, United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Norway and Canada.
The donors were also briefed on the High Level Revitalization Forum and efforts being put in place by IGAD to ensure peace is restored in the country.
JMEC Deputy Chairperson Ambassador Gen. Augostino Njoroge who chaired the meeting thanked the donors for their continued support to the Commission, amid challenges.
The donor representatives expressed their appreciation to the Commission in executing its mandate as envisaged in the 2015 Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (ARCSS).
